INTRODUCTION

Description: . Government of India, Somerville College and the University of Oxford are inviting applications for Oxford-Indira Gandhi Graduate Scholarships from Indian graduates to study masters courses and for Dphil course with proposed research in the eligible areas of study. Scholarship details: . Number of scholarships: 2 . The scholarship covers course fees, college fees and a grant for living costs for full-time students of at least �£14,057 (students on part-time courses will receive a study support grant instead). Awards are made for the full duration of fee liability for the agreed course.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility: Masters courses: . MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management; MSc in Contemporary India; Master of Public Policy; MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management; MSc in Environmental Change and Management; MPhil in Development Studies; and Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL). . For DPhil courses, proposed area of study must be relevant to the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Developments agenda of interdisciplinary research on sustainable development and India. The Centre focuses on a series of impact themes: food and water security; energy; environmental conservation; medical research and healthcare; law; governance; and gender (e.g. the empowerment of women). Independent proposals on any India-related theme which fits within the overall aims of the Centre will be considered.
